Motorcyclist Killed In Airport Road Crash With Car Saturday

UPDATE 10:25 a.m.: Warwick Police have identified the motorcyclist killed Saturday night when his motorcycle was struck by a car on Airport Road as John Boulay, 48, of Manning Street in Warwick.

Boulay was traveling west on Airport Road when the car cut into his lane of travel causing a collision, police report. Boulay was not wearing a helmet.

“The Warwick Police Department extends its condolences to the family,” police stated in a release to media Sunday morning.

Police identified the car driver as James Millerm, 30, of Warwick.

Speed, distracted driving and impairment do not appear to be factors at this time. Criminal charges are not being sought by the Warwick Police Department. Civil violations are pending and will be issued by the crash reconstruction team.

WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police have reported a motorcyclist killed after the rider crashed with a car in the area of 61 Airport Road Saturday at 6:17 p.m.

Warwick Police were called for a report of a crash between a motorcycle and a car, and were joined shortly after by Warwick Fire personnel. A WFD rescue transported the motorcyclist to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment, where the rider was later pronounced dead.

The motorcyclist was traveling westerly on Airport Road when a motor vehicle cut into his lane of travel causing a collision. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. The motorcyclist’s name is being withheld pending family notification.

Speed and distracted driving do not appear to be factors at this time. The Warwick Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
