WARWICK, RI — On Nov. 3, 10:07 p.m., Officer Nathaniel Gray spotted a Providence man wanted for a missed hearing on a robbery charge at Motel 6, 20 Jefferson Blvd.,  and arrested him.

According to Gray’s report, the officer was in his cruiser during a routine patrol of the motel’s front parking lot at the time. He spotted a black 2008 Honda Accord in the lot near the front entrance, and noted the man inside, whom he recognized as Edward Coulter, 41, of 678 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, RI. Gray noted in his report that, since Coulter has an extensive criminal history, he checked his current record, learning that he was wanted for failing to appear in Sixth District Court on a prior charge of second degree robbery, and also in Third District Court on an unspecified charge.

Officer Jonathan Byrne arrived to assist Gray, and the two approached Coulter and asked him to get out of his car. Coulter complied, and was arrested, searched an secured in Byrne’s cruiser without incident. Byrne transported Coulter to Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, where he was processed, then transported to Providence, Superior Court, where was turned over to sheriffs.
