WARWICK, R.I. — Officer David Boardman was patrolling inside Warwick City Park Dec. 13 at 3:44 a.m. when he found a 2009 Saturn with a couple sleeping inside, then arrested the man who had four warrants for his arrest including for failing to appear on a domestic strangulation and a robbery charge.

Boardman spoke with the man and woman, identifying the man as Nelson Morales, 25, of 3 Spring St., West Warwick.

The man and woman told Boardman they were resting in the middle of a trip from Florida to Canada.

A check of each person revealed four outstanding arrest warrants for Morales. Two were out of Third District Court for failing to appear on on driving with a suspended license, and also for failing to appear on a domestic strangulation charge. He also had a Fourth District Court bench warrant for failing to appear on a driving with a suspended license charge, and a Sixth District Court bench warrant for failing to appear on a first degree robbery charge.

Boardman arrested Morales and transported him to Warwick Police Headquarters at 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, where he was booked, processed and transferred to the Adult Correctional Institute.
