Man Found Dead on Walking Path Near Uno’s on Bald Hill Road

UPDATE, SEPT. 4: The dead man has been positively identified as Ronald Dufour, 61, homeless, according to Warwick Police.

WARWICK, RI — A woman discovered a man’s body on the walking path behind Uno’s Pizzeria at 400 Bald Hill Road at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, then alerted authorities to the death, which did not appear suspicious, Warwick Police report.

The woman stayed on the scene of the path near the Rte. 295 ramp until police arrived, then directed a police sergeant and two officers to the dead man. The police called in the State Medical Examiner, who took custody of the body, according to Lt. Earl Read.

Read said there did not appear to be foul play involved in the man’s death. The man has been identified, but police are waiting to notify the man’s next of kin before they release his identity to the public.
