Warwick, RI – Leave yourself extra time and extra distance from the car in front of you Thursday — the National Weather Service warns there’s probably 1-2 inches of snow coming for the morning commute.

Snowfall is expected to begin overnight and last into Thursday morning. The NWS notes there’s a small chance of a total of 3 inches of snowfall.

On Saturday, there is a “significant coastal storm” expected for the region. Whether that means snow or rain remains to be seen, according to the Weather Service, as of Thursday night.

In the event the storm brings snow, the Weather Service reports, it will be heavy and wet and will create a risk of downed power lines and tree limbs.
