WARWICK, RI — The man accused of throwing urine at Kent County Hospital staffers on Oct. 7 reported to Kent County District Court on Dec. 4.
Online court records show that Jeremy Wardlow, 45, of Newport, appeared before Judge Joseph P. Ippolito Jr. at 9 a.m. and pleaded not guilty to three counts of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors. Wardlow also waived his right to a jury trial during the hearing.
Wardlow had been subject to a bench warrant issued when he did not attend an earlier-scheduled hearing
According to Warwick Police, Wardlow was in Kent Hospital’s Progressive Care Unit for alcohol withdrawal treatment when he walked out of his room and threw a container of urine at a nurse’s station, hitting two secretaries and a registered nurse with the fluid.
Ippolito released Wardlow on $5,000 personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 7.
