EAST GREENWICH, RI — Amy Grzybowski has joined New England Institute of Technology as the new NEIT Vice President of Community Relations, President Richard Gouse announced.

Grzybowski previously worked as the Assistant Commissioner of Workforce and the Executive Director of the R.I. Higher Education & Industry Centers for the RI Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner (RIOPC).  In her new role, Grzybowski will lead NEIT’s efforts in establishing the university as the market leader in career education. She will serve as the chief officer to promote the strategic direction and objectives of NEIT’s College of Health Sciences and will build strong relationships in a rapidly evolving environment.

Grzybowski was responsible for the operation of three workforce training centers including the Westerly Education Center, the Woonsocket Education Center, and the RI Nursing Education Center. The Westerly and Woonsocket Education Centers have awarded credit- and certificate-bearing postsecondary education and workforce development credentials to thousands of students through the State’s institutions of higher education. The RI Nursing Education Center is a state-of-the-art nursing facility that houses both the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College nursing programs. Grzybowski served as the interim Executive Director of the Governor’s Workforce Board in 2021 and directed Rhode Island’s comprehensive workforce development efforts. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Grzybowski served as the liaison for the Governor’s office and the RI Department of Health with all 11 colleges and universities in their response to the pandemic.

Grzybowski earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University. She is a Ph.D. candidate for a Doctorate in Education degree from the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College’s joint program. Grzybowski is a certified emergency manager and serves as the Director of Emergency Management for the Town of Westerly.
