‘Into the Woods’ at OST, 2 p.m.

Ocean State Theatre continues its run of Into the Woods this week — and following the May 8 and 9 performances, the piano bar is open for a late-night performance of “Miscast.”

Post honcho Rob Borkowski saw a recent show — here’s his review.

Described as “a grown-up musical,” the plot follows a storybook Baker and his wife who learn a witch’s curse had left them barren, then go on a quest; Cinderella wishing to get into the King’s Festival and Jack [possibly of beanstalk fame] wishing for a cow that will produce milk also figure into the mix.

Online tickets are $54/49/39.

Wednesday, May 13, 2015:

Juried Exhibit at Warwick Museum of Art, 6 p.m.

The Apponaug gallery opens its doors to the “Colors of Spring” juried exhibit, featuring local artists and providing the chance to hear them speak about their creative process. Free.

Thursday, May 14, 2015:

Author Sean Stelatto at Barnes & Noble

If you’re a sports fan or just love a good story, be sure to drop by Barnes & Noble Booksellers on Rte. 2 to meet Sean Stelatto, author of No Backing Down: The Inspirational Story of the 1994 Salem High School Football Team.

A member of the Salem squad that finished second in its division under the direction of Ken Perrone, who continued to coach the team through an 11-day teacher strike, Stelatto recalls the players and their struggles amid the controversy.

New England Patriot Joe Vellano is also expected to make an appearance — just in case Stelatto wasn’t enough of a draw for you.
