Warwick, RI — Use this week to take a breather from the holiday bustle, or not — there’s a great list of events for both.

Can’t Miss:

“Step into the Holidays” exhibit at Clouds Hill

Get your pre-holiday fix [and maybe some decorating ideas] by visiting the Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum, 4157 Post Rd., and check out the deck-out. There’s also music, cider, and cookies to enjoy.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, kids under 12, $5. There’s also a special two-adults-and-two-kids price of $25. Opens at 1 p.m. every day through Dec. 31.

Friday, Dec. 12, 2014:

Meet Me in St. Louis at Ocean State Theatre, 2 p.m.

The talented cast and crew at OST set their sites on musical comedy with their update of the 1944 MGM classic film — and if their recent work is any indication, it’ll be a show to remember.

Online tickets are $39/$49/$54. Through Dec. 28.

Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014:

Bubbleology at Ocean State Theatre, 11 a.m.

Keith Michael Johnson, of Discovery Channel fame, shows off his bubble-sculpture skills and explains the science behind bubbles.

Online tickets are $10.

Holiday Art Project at WMOA, 1 p.m.

The third of four weekly workshops, this week’s lesson is on making paper ornaments led by Jason Howell.

Organizers says the project is age-appropriate for kids, meaning the parents can spirit away for a bit while the kids make their own art.

Cost is $15. Call to register: 401-737-0010.

Check out WMOA’s Facebook page under “Events” for more info.

Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014:

‘Lively Literati’ at The Elephant Room, 6:30 p.m.

Providence Journal Op-Ed writer Colleen Kelly Mellor brings another gang into the Elephant Room as part of the monthly series that brings Rhode Island authors to a cozy spot for reading aloud from their recent works.

This month’s slate is Maria Mutch [Know the Night], Tory McCagg [Bittersweet Manor], Kelly Kittel [Breathe, a Memoir of Motherhood, Grief, and Family Conflict],  and Sylvia Weber [A Guide for Compassion in Political Power].

Later in the evening, the floor is open to the audience.
