Warwick, RI — The Cranston man arrested in July on child molestation charges is currently serving home confinement in advance of a pretrial hearing scheduled for December.
Online court records show that on Oct. 24, Antonio Yanez, 22, pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree child molestation, three counts of second-degree child molestation, and one count of obstructing police, all felonies.
Kent County Superior Court Judge Edward C. Clifton ordered Yanez released from the ACI, where Yanez had been since his arrest in July, and imposed a no-contact order during the recent hearing.
A grand jury indicted Yanez on the charges on Oct. 11.
On Oct. 28, according to online court records, Clifton also ordered that audio tapes from the grand jury proceedings be submitted to the court.
The state attorney general’s office alleges that Yanez molested a 14-year-old on July 7 and 8, and tried to obstruct Warwick Police officers who were investigating the case.
Yanez is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Dec. 4.
