CRANSTON — The Cranston Police investigation into a Sept. 21 drag race ending in a three car crash and a seriously injured pedestrian includes security video of the Warwick driver losing control before the crash.
Calls about the racing were received at about 8:43 p.m. In the video, the 2001 Nissan Frontier pickup driven by Jacob Gardner, 19, of Gilbert Street, Warwick, occupied by one passenger, begins to skid out of control at 8:52 p.m. after crossing the center yellow lines and attempting to overtake the 2002 BMW M5 operated by a George Rodriguez, 30, of 20 Carr St., Providence.
Cranston Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
