COVENTRY, RI — Coventry Police have identified the body found by hikers in the Truman Heights Conservation Area April 29, 2023 as of Heather Boisvert, 26, and ask help investigating her death.

“Today we’re asking the community for assistance in learning more about Heather,” Pacheco said.

Police announced the identity of Heather Christine Boisvert, 26 in 2017, when investigators determine she died and was hidden, during a press conference at CPD headquarters, 60 Wood St., Coventry, RI. Coventry Det. Paul Pacheco led the conference, noting that at the time of her death, Boisvert, who had grown up in Coventry, was known to spend time in town, as well as the cities of Cranston and Providence. She was last seen by her family Aug. 1, 2017.

Pacheco said he knew Heather from his days in her neighborhood as a Patrolman, but didn’t know her well.

Pacheco said detectives began investigating the the death immediately after Boisvert’s skeletal remains were discovered by two hikers in the area. Animals had apparently moved the body from where it had remained hidden for the last several years, he said. He said that after another visit to the site where she had been found in December 2024, they were able to identify her using dental records.

“We recognize the tremendous emotional weight that this discovery and identification carries for Heather’s family,” Pacheco said, “For over seven years now, they have been hoping for a better outcome and our sincere condolences go out to her family.”

Pacheco said that due to the circumstances of her reported disappearance and the examination of her remains, her death is being investigated as suspicious. He said the FBI, RI Attorney General’s Office, State Police, and the State Medical Examiner are assisting the department in the investigation.

Pacheco urged anyone who could shed light on Heather and her life at the time of her disappearance to share that with detectives, even if people think it’s not relevant. Coventry Police ask that tips be sent to 401-822-9193 or emailed to [email protected].
