Warwick, RI — Don’t let the cold temperatures keep you from checking out the events coming up in Warwick, including a wine tasting and performances at Ocean State Theatre — plus a preview of a local artist’s work that’s up for auction.

A Night of Broadway Classics at OST:

Dr. Fred Scheff and a talented crop of guests deliver performances of Broadway classics on Saturday night, Jan. 10, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Online tickets are $40, with an apres-show meet-and-greet also available for $20.

Thursday, Jan. 8:

‘Lockwood School’ painting at WMOA, 10 a.m.

Renowned local artist Karl R. Rittmann‘s Lockwood School painting is up for auction next week — here’s a chance to see it before it sells.

The estate of Mary Frances Brown previously owned the painting, and Briarbrook Auctions of East Greenwich is handling the sale, scheduled for Jan. 19. See what else is up for sale on this photo gallery posted by Briarbrook.

Rittman’s work will be on display at WMOA through Saturday, Jan. 17.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free admission and free parking.

YP Central Wine Tasting, 5:30 p.m.

The Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals group hosts an evening of great taste at the Radisson Hotel on Post Road. Chef Michael J. Watson has prepared a six-course wine-and-food pairing menu that’s sure to get the taste buds tingling.

It’s the perfect setting for talking shop and networking with other local professionals. Tickets are $25; register online to reserve your spot.

Sunday, Jan. 11:

‘British Invasion’ to benefit OST Kids Camp, 3 p.m.

A number of Ocean State Theatre’s Kids Camp alumni have put together a lively set of Broadway songs by British composers, and they’ll bring their A-game to the stage Sunday afternoon for this benefit performance,

Online tickets are $25, with a post-performance meet-and-greet also available for just $5 more.
