WARWICK — Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick’s middle school members of The Club at Cooper on Sandy Lane debuted their production of “James and the Giant Peach” Thursday afternoon, and the community is invited to their follow-up performance tonight at 6 p.m.

“James and the Giant Peach” is based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s book of the same name, produced by the BGCW Theater Club’s  under direction of the Gamm Theater’s Teaching Artist, Kate Teichman. The play marks the first collaboration between Gamm and BGCW Theater Club.

Their tale follows the adventures of an orphaned boy who finds a way out of a miserable existence, with BGCW members acting, creating the set and the costumes.

“The kids have worked very hard,” said branch director Arianna DeAngelis. “They are really excited about having their families and friends watch the performance.”
