Warwick, RI — Holiday Shoppers in the mood to extend their holiday cheer a little further this year can stop in at Bald Hill Kia to find a dog or cat that could use a little help.

Bald Hill Kia and Bald Hill Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM are sponsoring a Giving Tree for Warwick Animal Shelter pets in the KIA building at 1021 Bald Hill Road, according to Judy Salvadore, president of the Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter.

Salvadore said during the holidays, shoppers can stop in at Kia during their day, select an ornament from the tree which also features an adoptable animal‘s picture and description, purchase the gift and bring it back to Bald Hill Kia for donation to the cat or dog. Direct donations via check are also accepted.

Gift requests on the ornaments range from flea and tick treatments to food, toys and pet beds and other pet care items intended to help the shelter care for its animal guests. The suggested gifts range in cost from $10 to $175.

Bob Petrarca, co-owner of the dealership, said he’s got a soft spot for animals. He’s been helping the Warwick Animal Shelter to promote their fundraisers and events since 2003, he said.

“All of my pets have always been rescue,” he said, including his current dogs, a  Great Dane and a mixed breed. “They’re near and dear to my heart.”
