‘Art of the Auto’ Exhibiting at WMOA Through July 19

Warwick, RI – Car enthusiasts of all persuasions attended WMOA’s opening reception for the “Summer Cruising: The Art of the Auto,” exhibit June 25, meeting with many of the artists.

Some 20 emerging crafters, painters, illustrators and photographers have contributed 55 works to the  art museum’s latest show at 3259 Post Road. Works include penciled artists conceptual drawings of vintage vehicles, photographs, and furniture created from classic cars.

The exhibit explores the fun, exhilaration, and passion that cars inspire. Have a quick look at our gallery of some of the sights to whet your appetite for an in- person visit.

“Summer Cruising: The Art of the Auto” exhibit: 

  • Through July 19: Warwick Museum of Art hosts the exhibit, celebrating all things automotive. Free admission. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Tuesday, July 8, (6-8 p.m.): Car Artists’ Talk Enjoy light refreshments and hear how cars have inspired two artists and a writer:   Guy Cassaday – former Hasbro toy designer, Corey Silvia – former Apple employee turned fine art car photographer, and Peter Elsworth – writer for the Car Section, Providence Journal.
