WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police were called to the YMCA at 900 Centerville Road Dec. 8 at 3:32 p.m. for a report of malicious damage, where two mini buses at the building had pieces of their mufflers removed.

At the YMCA, officer Quentin Tavares spoke with Bianca Silvestri, who said that on Dec. 3, staff members told her that two mini buses were extremely loud when they had been started. Silvestri told Tavares that she looked underneath the buses and saw that each had a piece of the muffler converter pipe missing, according to the officer’s report.

One of the converter pipes had been completely removed, while the second was only partially gone, she told Tavares, according to the report.

Silvestri told Tavares both vehicles had been parked in the gravel parking lot at the YMCA. She said if the culprit is found, the YMCA will pursue charges.
