The update also included additional details of the events that led to officers finding the father & son killed in the home that day:
“At approximately 8:24 a.m., the Warwick Police Department was called to 71 Frawley St. for the report of a homicide. While en route to the address, officers received word that a child had been shot and the alleged assailant was still inside the home with a firearm. As officers arrived, the person reporting the shooting, Estefania Dempsey, 33, a resident, told them her husband, 33-year-old Seamus Dempsey, had shot their son with a handgun. Estefania said her 79-year-old mother-in-law, Ellen Dempsey, was still in the home.
Officers were able to communicate with Ellen and assist her with exiting the home successfully and without injury.

“Officers entered the home and discovered the bodies of a small child and adult man, with wounds from apparent gunshots. The man was identified as Seamus Dempsey and child was identified as 4-year-old Liam, the biological son of Estefania and Seamus.”
