WARWICK, RI — Officer Brian Holleran was called to 400 Bald Hill Road, Nordstrom Rack, Dec. 22 at 5:40 p.m., for a report of a woman shoplifting to the store, catching her with $571 worth of mens and women’s clothing and charging her with shoplifting.

Holleran arrived at the store and spoke with the loss prevention manager, who said he saw a woman in the kids department with a black Nordstrom shopping bag with merchandise inside it. The manager said the woman took items off the shelf and placed those in her bag, then went to the men’s department, taking a duffel bag and proceeding to the women’s department, where she also put clothing items in her bag, then placed both her bags on the floor in the men’s shoe department. From there she took a shirt to the register and paid for that, returning to her bags and exiting the store into the mall without paying for most of her items.

Nordstrom’s loss prevention officers intercepted the woman, identified as Nairoby Depena, 34, of 9 Whelan Drive, Apt. 1-6, Providence. Holleran arrested Depena, charging her with felony shopliting, transporting her to Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive.
