Watch: Mayor Avedisian Thanks Supporters for Primary Victory

Warwick, RI – Mayor Scott Avedisian thanked supporters and voters during a jubilant primary victory Tuesday night against Republican challenger Stacia Petri, telling them city government was the solution to people’s problems, not the enemy.

“As great as tonight is, this is not the election,” said Mark Russell, Master of Ceremonies for the evening’s events, including the eventually victorious tally of Avedisian’s 3,108 votes, to primary challenger Stacia Petri’s 1,627.

Avedisian told a room packed with about 60 people at his Airport Road campaign headquarters  the November election would prove to residents the value of city government as the solution to their problems, not the cause.

“I’m proud to be a city employee,” Avedisian said.
