WARWICK, RI — This Warwick Weekend events roundup features a music festival in Pawtuxet Park, WCFA’s Educators Art Exhibit kickoff and a fundraiser for furry friends.

The weather for this week’s Warwick Weekend events promises mostly sunny skies, with high temps in the mid 70s (shorts, not bellbottoms), according to the National Weather Service.

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

WCFA Educator’s Art Exhibit Our annual Rhode Island Art Educators Exhibit is now on view! Come see a vibrant showcase of work by educators around the Ocean State.  The exhibit shows at the WCFA gallery, 3259 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. The  gallery  is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.  Admission is free.

Goddard Park Farmer’s Market Every Friday through Columbus Day Weekend, RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table. This is the of the first Warwick Weekend events, and a an important one for local farmers.

Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.

Norwood branch Library Building Club: Join other kids to create with Legos and Manga-tiles every Friday afternoon at the Norwood Branch.

Warwick Weekend Events Saturday:

 WCFA Educator’s Art Exhibit Opening Reception The opening reception will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 1-3 p.m. WCFA’s annual Rhode Island Art Educators Exhibit shows off a vibrant showcase of work by educators around the Ocean State.  The exhibit shows at the WCFA gallery, 3259 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. The  gallery  is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.  Admission is free. Feel free to explore the exhibit during open gallery hours, Wed.-Sat. 11am-3pm.

Conimicut Village Farmers Market This Saturday, 9am-12 p.m., the Conimicut Village Farmer’s Market continues. The Conimicut Village Farmers Market at 955 West Shore Road. The market runs every Saturday until Sept. 28.

Annual You Rock the Neighborhood Music Festival  12-5 p.m., Pawtuxet Park. The second annual music festival will raise funds to revitalize Pawtuxet Park.

Sponsors include Buttonwoods Brewery, You Rock School of Music, You Rock Studios, Cork & Brew and Spirits Too, Orange Anchor Art School, Laid-back Fitness, Pawtuxet Village Association plus our local businesses and all the bands. There will be more than 15 bands performing. The event will also feature:
  • -Food & Beer trucks
  • Auction Items – Local Merchants for Raffle tables
  • Auction Items – Local Artists – Adding a silent auction for local artists this year. (Artists WILL receive a percentage of the proceeds.)
  • Kids Activities – Laid Back Fitness, Face Painting/Tattoos, Coloring Activity Area, Save the Bay

Save One Soul Fundraiser Join us at Modern Dog Training, 120 Telmore Rd, East Greenwich, RI, for the 10th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser benefiting the Save One Soul Animal Rescue League, where you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of furry friends in need.  It promises to be a fun-filled and family-friendly day for all ages.
