WARWICK, RI — It’s a fun filled if rain-punctuated roundup of Warwick weekend events, with the marquee events – two egg hunts, prudently switching to rain dates Sunday, with drama and comedy mixed in.
Warwick Weekend weather will be bifurcated with a 100 percent chance of rain Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. There are some indoor events happening for your edification, and Friday and Sunday will be your best chances for dry outdoor experiences. Here are some events and happenings you can enjoy along the way:
Warwick Weekend Events Friday:
Toll Gate High Wizard of Oz The Toll Gate High Drama Club presents its production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ Friday and Saturday at the school’s Robert J. Shapiro Cultural Arts Center.
Tickets are $7 in advance; $10 at the door. The show begins at 7 p.m.
Harbor Lights Comedy Dog Benefit Visit Harbor Lights in Warwick for its Comedy dog benefit – a night of good laughs, good company and good luck for all the dogs with Funny 4 Fido. The event will present comedians from Funny 4 Funds, there to entertain. The event features a cash bar and menu, raffles and a silent auction.
Proceeds from the comedy dog benefit will aid homeless dogs with charity groups including Save one Soul and SOS ReTail.
Warwick Weekend Events Sunday:
Warwick City Park Egg Hunt The third annual Warwick City Park Easter Egg Hunt will be held this Sunday, noon, at the Warwick City Park softball fields. The free-admission event promises fun for all ages, including Cigty Park Easter Egg Hunt by age group, special prizes and give-aways, a DJ, bounce house, face painting and photos with the Easter Bunny. Also, food trucks.
Clegg Field Egg Hunt Bring your baskets and keep your eyes peeled Sunday, March 23 for the Clegg Field Easter Egg Hunt at 1:30 p.m. at the field in Conimicut Village. More than 300 prizes will be given out during the event, and everyone gets a goodie bag. The Easter Bunny is also scheduled to make an appearance.
Thayer Arena Public Skate: Through March, Friday and Sunday, Public Skate is open to skaters of all ages. Cost to Skate is $5 – Children 5 and under are free. Skate Rentals are available at Sandy Lane Sports across the street from the rink.
