WARWICK, RI — Warwick Weekend events include a flooding comeback for Apponaug Brewing Company, an exhibit on a famed RI mapmaker, citizenship lessons, and dancing, coinciding with some chilly weather.

Warwick Weekend weather is forecast in the low to high 20s with a 60 percent chance of snow today, according to the National Weather Service. Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending a typically chilly January weekend:

Warwick Weekend Friday:

Norwood branch Library Building Club: Join other kids to create with Legos and Manga-tiles every Friday afternoon at the Norwood Branch.

WCFA exhibit: Famed Mapmaker Matteson This month, Warwick Center for the Arts, 3259 Post Rd. Warwick, presents an exhibit of famed Rhode Island map maker and illustrator George E. Matteson’s hand-drawn maps and artifacts, on loan from the Clouds Hill Museum, running through Jan 26, Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Apponaug Brewery comeback: Apponaug Brewery is back in business today following weeks of flood related repairs. reopens with regular hours starting at 4 p.m. today! “Please stop by and have a delicious bite to eat and something to drink to support this popular riverfront local business, whose owners and staff have maintained a wonderful attitude despite the financial losses and daunting cleanup they’ve faced the past month,” Warwick Tourism encouraged Friday.

Library Citizen preparation classes: Prepare for the U.S. Naturalization Interview with Citizen Preparation classes at Warwick Public Library Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The classes are offered by the RI Family Literacy Initiative (RIFLI) and are free and open to all. Call 401-455-8041.

WCFA Souper Saturday Dance: We dance to the fiddle tunes of Ireland Scotland England France and Appalachia and we often switch partners after every dance so there is no need to bring a partner and no experience is needed to have a fantastic time. The event serves homemade soup & cornbread. The event begins at 7 p.m., with a basics dance class at 6:45 p.m. Admission: Your choice $15 – $20 per person / WCFA Members $12 / Students (with ID) $10. Contributions are encouraged to keep this dance going. Attire is casual, layers are best for this invigorating exercise. Please wear non-street shoes that move easily on the floor (rubber soled sneakers are ok but harder to dance with).
