Goddard Park Farmer’s Market Every Friday through Columbus Day Weekend, RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table. This is the of the first Warwick Weekend events, and a an important one for local farmers.
Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.
If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.

Elephant Migration at Salve Regina U. Salve hosts a herd of life-size Indian elephant sculptures on campus as part of a Cliff Walk experience through Monday, Sept. 2. The project, The Great Elephant Migration (GEM), is a traveling public art exhibition and global fundraising initiative to inspire humans to share space. Salve will host the biggest herd of 52 on the lawn of McAuley Hall, which is publicly accessible from the Cliff Walk. Other herds can be viewed at the Rough Point, The Breakers and Great Friends Meetinghouse.
The U.S. Migration is presented by Art&Newport, founded by Salve alumna Dodie Kazanjian ’72, which aims to develop and host a series of city-wide visual arts presentations in Newport. From Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, Salve Regina’s student Cliff Walk Ambassadors are available to educate visitors on the history and impact of the Cliff Walk and the Great Elephant Migration project.
While a drive and two bridges separate this attraction from the usual geographic area of Warwick Weekend events, the novel attraction combined with a long weekend seems a good reason for an exception to the usual rules.

Conimicut Village Farmers Market This Saturday, 9am-12 p.m., the Conimicut Village Farmer’s Market continues. The Conimicut Village Farmers Market at 955 West Shore Road. The market runs every Saturday until Sept. 28.
