WARWICK, RI — This week’s Warwick Weekend events begin with Goddard Park’s Farmer’s Market and Roger Williams Food Truck Friday, a walk with the pooches for suicide prevention and the 9th Annual Strides for Independence Walk, both at Goddard Park Saturday, and the Color-A-Thon.
Sunday, Mother’s Day, is understandably scarce on big events.
The weather for this round of Warwick Weekend events starts with a slight chance of showers Friday, then partly sunny Saturday and mostly cloudy Sunday with temps in the high 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
Warwick Weekend Events Friday:
Goddard Park Farmer’s Market Every Friday through Columbus Day Weekend, RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table.
Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.
If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.
Norwood branch Library Building Club: Join other kids to create with Legos and Manga-tiles every Friday afternoon at the Norwood Branch.

Stamp Out Hunger US Postal Service Letter Carrier Food Collection Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. The need is great, but you can help. We invite you to join letter carriers and our partner organizations in the fight to end hunger in our communities by participating in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Simply leave your donation of non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox on the second Saturday in May, and your letter carrier will do the rest.
Paws for Prevention suicide awareness walk May is Mental Health Month! We invite you and your furry friend(s) to join us and raise awareness for mental health wellness and suicide prevention, 9:30 a.m. at Goddard Park.
Strides for Independence Walk West Bay Community is thrilled to announce the upcoming 9th Annual Strides for Independence 1k/5k Walk-a-thon, scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 11, 9 a.m., at Goddard Memorial Park. This event is a celebration of inclusion, empowerment, and the limitless potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
The Strides for Independence Walk-a-thon is more than just a fundraising event; it’s a movement towards creating meaningful opportunities for people with IDD to experience the full richness of life.
Warwick Neck Color-A-Thon The Warwick Neck Color-A-Thon fundraising event returns Saturday, May 11, 10:30 a.m. at the Bend Field Sports Complex. The color-strewn run celebrates donations from local businesses to the elementary school’s enrichment programs incorporating environmentally safe color powder that participants throw and run through as they circle the course.
Conimicut Village Farmers Market This Saturday, May 11, 9am-12pm – starts The Conimicut Village Farmers Market at 955 West Shore Road just in time for Mother’s Day! The market runs every Saturday until Sept. 28.
Crafting for Critters Spring Bazaar The 10th Annual “Crafting for Critters” Spring Bazaar will be held outdoors on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Airport Professional Park, 2348 Post Road, Warwick, RI from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. Hosted by Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, more than 70 artisans will be selling their locally handcrafted wares just in time for Mother’s Day! Products include fine art, jewelry, crafts, handcrafted accessories, apparel, home decor, baked goods, candies, jams & jellies, dog treats, pet accessories, books and much more. Event is outdoors. Admission and parking are free. Food trucks will be on the premises.
