WARWICK, RI — This week’s Warwick Weekend events include a steady drop in temperatures, possible snow, and two holiday light displays for the family.
Warwick Weekend events weather is forecast for a high of 40 Friday, with rain likely, turning to a rain/snow mix, then slight snow showers Saturday as temps drop into the 30s The temperatures fall further Sunday at clear, sunny 25 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending the weekend:
Warwick Weekend Events Friday:
Little Free Pantry, Warwick, RI Now until Saturday, Dec. 21 we will be taking requests from who have been unable to receive help for Christmas and providing toys only based on availability we are limited to Cranston, Coventry and Warwick. Agencies at this time are also free to reach out to us if you need some help filling toy gaps. We have no extra teen items or coats. Pick up is in Warwick Coventry or Cranston based on availability. Bring your own Improv This interactive improv show at the Warwick Center for the Arts welcomes voluntary audience participation! You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved with us on stage.
Picozzi Family Christmas Display Santa’s mailbox is at the display again this year at the Picozzi Family Christmas display, 75 Gristmill Road, the holiday project of Mayor Frank Picozzi for years before his election as Mayor.
Holiday Lights Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo Grab the family and head to Roger Williams Park Zoo through Jan. 4, 5 – 9:30 p.m., for its annual Holiday Lights Spectacular – an all new walk-through experience featuring a dazzling light display throughout the zoo featuring larger-than-life displays of more than 1.5 million lights. Bundle up, grab an adult beverage, hot chocolate, or roast some s’mores and stroll through 40 acres of illuminated pathways.
Reserve tickets in advance online. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for children ages 2-12. 5-9:30 p.m., Roger Williams Park Zoo, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence.
From radiant reindeer to sparkly snowmen, this is a must-see experience this holiday season. And for the little ones, Santa will be at the Spectacular on select Thursday nights in December through Christmas. The visit is free to families who have a same-night ticket for the 5 or 6 pm timeslot only.
Holiday Lights will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
WEATHER POLICY — The Holiday Lights Spectacular is open rain or shine. In the case of light to moderate rain or snow, the show will be open; there are no refunds. Please check the website or visit Facebook for updates.

Final Winter Market DayThe Warwick Center for the Arts is open for final Saturday of its Winter Market showcase of art of every stripe – for sale.
“We always have an exhibit of some sort rotating on the walls,” said Danielle Salisbury, director at the WCFA. But this time, the exhibit is of smaller art works, more affordably priced, complemented by tables of assorted artistic creations. Those items run the gamut, including mosaics, wooden bowls, jewelry, and succulent arrangements.
But Saturday is your last opportunity to browse and buy before the artists pack up their wares and head back to their respective abodes and studios. The WCFA Winter Market will open from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. Then it’s a wrap.
