Warwick Schools Canceled Monday, Winter Storm Warning Begins

WARWICK— Warwick Public Schools have cancelled classes for Monday an hour ahead of a Winter Storm Warning set for 7 p.m. tonight lasting until 10 a.m. tomorrow.

Kent County YMCA also cancelled classes and activities for the day, and the City has set a parking ban until further notice.

The cancellations come on the heels of the National Weather Service’s prediction of hazardous weather conditions and heavy snow. Snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches, are expected, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
