WARWICK, RI — A local family is asking the public’s help after losing Nathan D. White, 64, to a June 14 Center Court fire that also claimed the home he shared with his wife, Tammy.

The couple, married in 1977, had been planning to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary this year. But last week a fire started at the couple’s Center Court home after Tammy had left to donate plasma, her habit for years, according to a GoFundme page dedicated to helping her and the family cope with the financial loss.

“We aren’t certain what happened as it’s still being investigated, but the early reports indicate the fire stared in the kitchen while my father was alone in the bedroom,” wrote Ginarae Lescault, the fundraiser’s organizer, on the page.

“The home she rented with our father for 20+ years is gone. She lost the love of her life, her home and everything they had together. Your generosity will help her with the financial burden of funeral costs, a new place to live and what she will need to rebuild her life. May God now watch over our Father and provide him peace. May we all find comfort in knowing that our Father is an organ donor, and on this Father’s Day, he can bless someone else in need. His strong heart and funny wit will continue to live on…. Always & Forever, His Loving Family,” Lescault wrote.

As of Monday afternoon, $9,740 of the fundraiser’s $20,000 goal had been raised on the page.
