WARWICK, RI — The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) has announced that Uber will soon join Lyft in operating in front of T.F. Green Airport’s terminal, steps from the terminal doors.
RIAC’s Board of Directors authorized RIAC to enter into an agreement with Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) for both drop-off and pick-up. Both Uber and Lyft have signed the agreement. RIAC staff are currently working with Uber on a transition to operate on-airport effective Oct. 1.
Transportation Network Company (TNC) operators have become a popular alternative transportation option. Since September 2018 RIAC has entered into annual Operating Agreements with Lyft, Inc. which has been operating from T.F. Green Airport’s commercial curb. Uber has previously operated offsite which was inconvenient for passengers at the airport.
“We are pleased to have Uber join Lyft in offering curbside pickup for travelers at T.F. Green Airport,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “Our patrons appreciate T.F. Green Airport’s commitment to easy, stress free travel, including the ability to quickly and easily access curbside transportation services.”
