Four months after the Friends of Salter Grove (FoSG) drew the attention of Rep. Joseph McNamara (D-Dist. 19, Warwick) to the area’s causeway, the DEM is surveying in preparation to restore the deteriorating 1960s Army Corps of Engineers artifact, and the adjoining park is enjoying occasional organized cleanups.

Joseph McNamara (D-Dist. 19, Warwick) at the site’s causeway last month as the agency seeks funding for a plan to raise the structure, eliminating a high-tide drowning risk for fishermen.
