Secretary of State Swears in Sen. McKenney

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea swore in Sen. Mark McKenney (D-Dist. 30, Warwick) Tuesday as the 2019-20 session of the Rhode Island General Assembly convened.

McKenney was one of seven new members of the Senate who took the oath of office,   administered to all 38 senators by Gorbea.

McKenney, an attorney and small business owner, has served as president of Literacy Volunteers Rhode Island, Providence Community Library and Buttonwoods Beach Association. He has served on the State Library Board, Buttonwoods Fire District Board of Supervisors and the Warwick Zoning Board.

A graduate of Boston College and Catholic University Law School, he lives in the Buttonwoods section of Warwick with his wife, Tricia. They have three children, Caitlin, Cara and Dan.
