WARWICK, RI — The driver Officer Joseph DiIlorio stopped Sept. 30 6:41 p.m., on Post Road didn’t have a seatbelt on, but she did have a stolen Chevy.

Stephanie Boucher, 41, of 188 Webster St., Pawtucket, RI, also had three active warrants out of Pawtucket for larceny and one active bench warrant from third district court for driving without a license, according to the officer’s report. She did not have an active license at the time of the stop.

DiIlorio made the stop at first after seeing she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt as she passed him in the white Chevy at 1651 Post Road, according to his report. He pulled behind her and ran her plates, learning that the car had been reported stolen. DiIlorio turned on his emergency lights just as the driver put on her blinker to turn into the lot for Walt’s Roast Beef, and he followed her in to the lot to make the stop.

As she stopped the car, she attempted to get out, but DiIlorio ordered her to stay in the car, according to the report.

Three officers arrived at the location to assist, and DiIlorio was identified. Boucher told the officers she had borrowed the car from a friend. DiIlorio contacted the owner of the Chevy, who said he had not given anyone permission to drive the car and that he does not know Boucher.

The car was towed by Christian’s Towing. An officer transported Boucher to Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, where she was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and Driving with a Suspended Licesne. The warrants were removed from the system.
