WARWICK — The Warwick School Committee will review the fiscal year 2020 budget during their meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Warwick Veterans Middle School, 2401 West Shore Road, followed by three nights of public hearings on the document.

Usually, the School Committee hosts two public hearing meetings on the budget, said Catherine Bonang, secretary to Superintendent Philip Thornton, but this year, in light of three newly minted members of the Committee, the body will extend it to a third evening.

On April 22, the evening will begin with several contract awards, then move to discussion of  authorized bond funding expenditures, including bids for the Sherman Elementary Roof replacement and Oakland Beach & Scott Schools fire alarm system replacement

The third item on the agenda will be the rresentation of Thornton’s recommended budget for fiscal year 2020

The April 23 and 24 School Committee meetings will be held at 6 p.m. at Warwick Veterans Middle School. A specific time and venue for the third meeting April 25 have yet to be scheduled.
