Warwick, RI – The Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce‘s annual Rocky Point 5K drew about 530 runners and walkers to 155 Rocky Point Ave., for a morning trek through the now open Rocky Point Park Saturday.
Runners remarked the race offered beautiful scenes and challenging hills, and vowed to run the course again in 2016. The third annual event’s field has shown modest growth. In 2014 about 400 runners participated, which was up from the inaugural year’s 350 runners.
Proceeds from the race benefit local charities. This year’s race recipients are A Wish Come True, Goodwill Industries, and the RI Center for Law and Public Policy.
