RISP: Passenger Killed After ‘Exiting’ Moving Vehicle on Rte. 95

WARWICK, RI — Rhode Island State Police report a passenger killed Tuesday at about 9:36 p.m. was struck by several vehicles after “exiting” a moving vehicle on Rte. 95 South near Rte. 37.

Rhode Island State Police and Warwick Fire and Rescue were called to the scene by reports of a pedestrian being struck on the highway on Rte. 95 South.

Troopers: Passenger Killed after exiting moving vehicle

Troopers arrived and investigated, learning that a 33-year-old man from San Benito, Texas, a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on Rte. 95, exited the vehicle while it was traveling near Route 37.  He was struck by several other vehicles, and died as a result of his injuries, police report.

State Police did not provide detail on why the man exited the vehicle. This report will be updated as more information is available.
