RI Trooper Log: Warwick Arrests For DUI, Hit & Run, Eluding

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log Warwick arrests  March 31 – April 4 involved charges for DUI, missed hearings, eluding police and a hit & run.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Rte. 95 stop, DUI On March 31, at 12:59 a.m., troopers arrested Oscar Osorio, 25, of 16 Diane Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor – BAC Unknown – First Offense; and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Cranston. Osorio was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

Missed court, shoplifting charge At 11:07 p.m. March 31, troopers arrested Ruayan Mendez De Leon, 23, of 164 Wood St., Apartment #2, Providence, Rhode Island, for 1.) Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment $5,000 With Surety on the original charge of Shoplifting, originating out of the Warwick Police Department, and 2.) Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment $5,000 With Surety on the original charge of Shoplifting and Unlawful Use and/or Removal of Theft Detection Shielding Devices, originating out of the Warwick Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on East Avenue, in the City of Warwick. Mendez De Leon was processed at the Wickford Barracks and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Warwick Hit & Run, Providence arrest At 11:11 a.m. April, 1, troopers arrested Alex Flores Reyes, 18, of 60 Prairie Ave., Apartment 60, Providence, Rhode Island, for Duty to Stop in Accident Resulting in Damage to Attended Vehicle.

The arrest was the result of troopers responding to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident in the City of Warwick and subsequently locating the suspect at his residence in the City of Providence. Flores Reyes was processed and later turned over to Kent County District Court for arraignment.

Missed court, suspended license charge At 9:17 p.m. April 1, troopers arrested Irving Rivera, 28, of 13 Inkerman St., Apartment #1, Providence, RI, on a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License out of the West Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on New London Turnpike in the Town of Coventry. Rivera was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Chambly Avenue stop, DUI charge At 12:23 p.m. April 2, troopers arrested Brandon Richards, 22, of 71 Wells Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving After Suspension of License – Certain Violations (Colin Foote).

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Chambly Avenue in the City of Warwick. Richards was processed at the Wickford Barracks and then transported to Third Division District Court for his arraignment.

Possession of illegal drugs, eluding police On April 2, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Marc Jones, 37, of 250 Gallatin St., Providence, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the Warwick Police Department for the following: 1) Four counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Sch I/II Controlled Substance; and 2) Eluding.

Jones was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Warwick Police Department at the scene.

DUI Pickup Picked Up for DUI: t 12:37 a.m. April 4, troopers arrested Jordan Batty, 46, of 49 Overton St., Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs – B.A.C Unknown – First Offense and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

This arrest was the result of Ms. Batty arriving at the Barracks intoxicated and attempting to take responsible custody of a prisoner. Batty was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released to the custody of a responsible adult.
