WARWICK, RI — Warwick arrests in the RI Trooper Log Aug. 16 -19 involved charges for taking 9 lbs of pot on a flight, shoplifting and multiple hit & run warrants.

Missed court, ‘No wake zone’ violation At 9:21 p.m. Aug. 16, troopers arrested Michael McGovern, 37, of 5 Sullivan Street, North Providence, Rhode Island on a Sixth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the charge of Prohibited Operation – Violation of “No Wake Zone”, originating out of the Providence Police Department. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 North, in the City of Warwick. McGovern was transported to the Wickford Barracks.
Wanted in Warwick for shoplifting On Friday, Aug. 16, at 10:30 p.m., troopers arrested Raymond Zinno, 30, of 42 Shore Drive, Johnston, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Shoplifting (Three Counts) originating out of the Warwick Police Department.
This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 146, in Providence. Zinno was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and then turned over to the Warwick Police Department.
Wanted, hit & run, Providence stop On Friday, Aug. 16, at 10:12 a.m., troopers arrested Lismarie Martinez Vargas, 32, of 72 Kendall St. Apt. #3R, Central Falls, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Failure to Stop for Accident originating out of the Warwick Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in the City of Providence. Vargas was processed at State Police Headquarters and turned over to the Warwick Police Department.
Child endangerment On Aug. 16, members from the Special Victims and Major Crimes Units arrested Amanda Abreu, 32, of 3226 Post Road, Warwick, RI for Child Endangerment. Ms. Abreu was transported to Sixth District Court for arraignment.
Wanted, hit & run At 3:29 p.m. Aug. 18, Troopers arrested Nico Gallucci, 18, of 181 Heritage Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Failure to Stop for Accident Resulting in Damage To an Attended Vehicle 2.) Obstructing an Officer in Execution of Duty.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation and subsequent warrant check at the suspect’s residence. Gallucci was processed at State Police Headquarters, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Third District Court date.
Man arrested with 9lbs of pot on Breeze Airlines flight At 11:15 a.m. Aug. 19, troopers arrested James Perry, 25, of 243 Lake Carolina Boulevard Columbia, South Carolina for 1.) Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana (1 kg-5 kg –(9 lbs.)) and 2.) Possession of a Schedule I-V Controlled Substance – marijuana.
The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to T.F. Green International Airport where Mr. Perry was being detained by Airport Police for attempting to bring nine pounds of marijuana on his Breeze Airlines flight. Mr. Perry was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks where he was processed and then transported to Third Division District Court for his arraignment.
