RI Trooper Log: Felony Domestic Assault, Shoplifting

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests Aug. 11-18  concerning Warwick involved charges of domestic assault, including felony domestic assault, shoplifting and unlicensed driving.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Missed court, domestic violence, felony assault At 1:22 am Aug. 12, troopers arrested Shimeek Lee, 25, of 460 Pine St., Providence, Rhode Island for: 1) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving with an Expired License, originating out of the North Kingstown Police Department, and 2) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation on the original charge of Domestic Violence—Felony Assault originating out of the Central Falls Police Department. 

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on the Airport Connector in Warwick. Lee was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and then turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution—Men’s Intake.

Shoplifting warrant, traffic stop At 3:11 a.m. Aug 13, troopers arrested Jacqueline Rodriguez, 34, of 133 Wesleyan Avenue, Apartment 1F, Providence, Rhode Island, for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant issued by the Warwick Police Department for Shoplifting – Misdemeanor. 

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Silver Spring Street in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police – Headquarters, where she was processed, and later turned over to the Warwick Police Department. 

Shoplifting warrant, traffic stop At 3:11 a.m. Aug. 13, troopers arrested Thomas Villella, 40, of 103 South Main St., Warwick, RI, for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant issued by the Warwick Police Department for Shoplifting – Misdemeanor. 

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Silver Spring Street in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police – Headquarters, where he was processed, and later turned over to the Warwick Police Department.

Domestic assault warrant, traffic stop At 1:14 p.m. Aug. 15, troopers arrested Jasnel Santiago, 25, of 102 Sassafras St. Providence, Rhode Island on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Domestic Simple Assault originating out of the Providence Police Department. 

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Coronado Road in the City of Warwick. Santiago was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and then transported to the Providence Police Department.

Domestic assault warrants On Aug. 17, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Louis Wegener, 41, of 694 Park Ave., Cranston, Rhode Island, on the following: 1) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Trial on an original charge of Domestic Assault by Strangulation out of the Warwick Police Department; 2) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial on an original charge of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card out of the Cranston Police Department; 3) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Trial on an original charge of Domestic Simple Assault out of the Westerly Police Department. 

Wegener was transported to Third District Court for arraignment.

Missed court, unlicensed driving On Friday, Aug. 18, at 11:03 p.m., troopers arrested Shajuanna Sumner, 25, of 58 Sears Ave., Providence, RI, for a Sixth District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving After Denial/Revocation of License originating out of the Warwick Police Department. 

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Newark Street in Providence. Sumner was processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institute – Woman’s Intake Center.
