WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests Sept. 10 – 16  concerning Warwick involved charges of  embezzlement, shoplifting, felony assault and conspiracy, and driving with a suspended license.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Embezzlement, money under false pretenses At 11:30 a.m. Sept. 11, troopers arrested Joseph Fanara, 71, of 72 Drybrook Road, Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses (Over $10,000) and 2.) Embezzlement (Over $100).

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation and a warrant check of Fanara’s residence. Fanara was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and transported to Sixth District Court for arraignment.

Warrant, suspended license On Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 2:38 p.m., troopers arrested Michael Jean, 23, of 30 Yarmouth St., Apt. 1, Providence, RI for an active Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of Trooper Sherrill responding to the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal for a party in custody. Jean was transported to State Police Headquarters, where he was processed and later turned over the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Missed court, shoplifting charge On Friday Sept. 15, at 12:40 a.m., troopers arrested Gina Bernardo, 38, of 32 Willard St., Apt. #1, Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on the original charge of Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department. 2.) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on the original charge of Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Elmwood Avenue in the City of Providence. Bernardo was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Woman’s Intake Center.

Felony assault, felony conspiracy warrants On Sept. 14, the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Alan McDaniel, 37, of 141 East St. (Rear apartment), Cranston, RI, on the following:

1) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on an original charge of Felony Conspiracy (North Providence Police Department);

2) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on an original charge of Felony Conspiracy (Warwick Police Department);

3) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on an original charge of Felony Assault with Intent to Commit Specified Felonies (Warwick Police Department);

4) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing on an original charge of Felony Conspiracy (Warwick Police Department);

5) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing on an original charge of Felony Conspiracy (Warwick Police Department);

6) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing on an original charge of Domestic Violence/Simple Assault (Cranston Police Department);

7) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing on an original charge of Domestic Violence/Simple Assault (Cranston Police Department); and

8) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Arraignment Conference on an original charge of Felony Domestic Assault (Cranston Police Department).

McDaniel was processed and turned over to the Cranston Police Department pending arraignment.

Failing to register as sex offender On Sept. 14, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Edward Gill, 39, of no permanent address, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the Warwick Police Department for the charge of Sexual Offender Failure to Notify of Change in Address.

Gill was processed and turned over to the Warwick Police Department.
