WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests Sept. 14 – Sept. 19 in and surrounding Warwick involved charges for felony assault, dealing marijuana, obtaining money under false pretenses and violating a protective order.

Here are the details of those RI Trooper Log arrests:

Warwick man arrested on felony assault charge On Sept. 17, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force and HIDTA arrested Joseph Flynn, 20 years old, of 58 Mohawk Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Felony Assault with Intent to Commit Murder; 2) Felony Assault with Firearm; and 3) Felony Conspiracy.

Flynn was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and turned over to North Providence Police.

East Greenwich man arrested on marijuana dealing charge On Sept. 16, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Yu Lin, 24, of 905 Middle Road, East Greenwich, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance – Marijuana; and 2) Possession With the Intent to Deliver Over 5 Kilograms of a Schedule I Controlled Substance – Marijuana. Lin was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, then arraigned at Kent County District Court where he was held without bail.

Cranston man arrested for violating protective order At 12:20 p.m. Sept. 17, troopers arrested Joseph Petroff, 66, of 18 Florida Ave., Cranston, RI for: 1.) Violation of Family Court Order for Protection from Abuse (24 Hour Rule). This arrest was the result of a Barracks investigation by Troopers and a subsequent residence check in Cranston. Petroff was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.

West Warwick, obtaining money under false pretenses At 8 p.m., Sept. 17, troopers arrested Thuan Hieu, 33, of 22 Iron Drive West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Obtaining Money-False Pretense Under-1500$ originating out of the Rhode Island State Police Hope Valley Barracks. The arrest was a result of a Barracks investigation conducted by the State Police and responding to Portsmouth Police Department to take Hieu into custody. Hieu was transported to State Police Headquarters, where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment.

Missed court, B&E charge At 1:46 a.m. Sept. 17, troopers arrested Albert J. Lovegreen, 36, of 48 Foch St., Providence RI for 1.) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on a Technical Violation on the original charge of Breaking and Entering a Dwelling out of the Cranston Police Department, 2.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Shoplifting out of the North Smithfield Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in West Greenwich. Lovegreen was turned over to the North Smithfield Police Department.
