WARWICK, RI —  State Police arrests in the RI Trooper Log between June 30 and July 4 involved charges for DUI with children in the car and missing court for stealing a car.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Car crash alerts troopers to DUI, driver, kids in car At 10:06 p.m., troopers arrested Katie A. Orlando, 37, of 14 Wychwood Place, Johnston, Rhode Island, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – First Offense, BAC .15/ Greater, with two children under the age of thirteen (13) in the vehicle.

The arrest followed troopers’ response to a single car motor vehicle accident and resulting investigation on ramp from Division Street onto Rte. 95 North in Warwick.

Orlando was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

The driver and the two children in the car, ages 8 and 10, were not hurt.

Later, breathalyzer tests showed Orlando’s blood alcohol content was allegedly .207 and .202 in successive tests, more than twice the legal limit of .08.

Orlando also was cited for: • Reasonable and Prudent Speeds • Failure to Maintain Proper Control of Vehicle • Laned Roadway Violations • Due Care by Drivers • Leaving Lane of Travel.

Orlando was released with a future court appearance. The two children were turned over to the custody of relatives. The Department for Children, Youth and Families was notified.

Man arrested for missing court on stolen car charge At 2:54 p.m. July 26, troopers arrested Pedro Gomez, 27 of 784 Park Ave., Providence, on a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on the original charge of Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle originating from the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and turned over to Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Troopers arrest man for missing court on suspended license charge At 4:10 July 26, troopers arrested De’Army Harris, 19, of 14 Whitehall St., Providence, on a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Pre-Trail Conference on the original charge of Operating on a Suspended/Revoked License originating from the Providence Police Department. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick.

Harris was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and turned over to Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.
