WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests in Warwick during the week of Sept. 1 through 6 included a DUI, a felony case of obtaining money under false pretenses, and several arrests on warrants.
Here are the available details of those arrests:
Stop leads to DUI, breath test refusal charges: On Sept. 1, at 4:57 p.m., troopers arrested Theodore Bohara Jr., 43, of 41 Henry St., Norwich, Conn., for 1.) Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs B.A.C. unknown – First offense; and 2.) Refusal to submit to a chemical test. This arrest was the result of troopers responding to emergency calls for an erratic operator and subsequent motor vehicle stop on Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick. Bohara was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center. He was released on $1,000 bond and is next due in court for formal arraignment on Sept. 10.
Reckless driving, probation violation: On Sept. 2 At 2:08 a.m., troopers arrested Tyrelle Palmer, 26, of 27 Arlington Ave., Warren, on a charge of reckless driving. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Bald Hill Road in Warwick. Palmer was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment on a probation violation. At a hearing on Sept. 3, prosecutors filed a probation violation before Judge John F. McBurney III stemming from a 2016 case of felony drug possession brought by Scituate Police. Palmer was released on $20,000 bond in that case. He is next due in court for a violation hearing on Sept. 16, and a separate hearing on Sept. 17 on the reckless driving charge,
Arrested on WPD Warrant: On Sept. 2 at 11:51 a.m., troopers arrested Samantha Dodge, 27, of 252 Wolf Rock Road, Exeter, for a Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for failure to appear at a hearing on a charge of breaking and entering brought by Warwick Police. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Olney Avenue in North Providence. Dodge was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and turned over to the ACI/Women’s Intake. Following a hearing Sept. 3 in Third District Court, Dodge was released on $5,000 personal recognizance until a pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 17.
Felony obtaining money under false pretenses: On Sept. 3, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Albertha Brown, 63, of 98 Fairfax Drive, Warwick, for obtaining money under false pretenses over $1500. Brown was processed at State Police Headquarters, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released pending a future court date. Following a hearing in Third District Court, Brown was released on $3,000 personal recognizance until a felony screening scheduled for Dec. 3.
Failure to appear warrant: On Sept. 5 At 2:36 p.m., troopers arrested Ellen Johnson, 64, of 20 Benedict Road, Warwick, on a Third Division District Court Warrant for failure to appear for payment review on the original charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Warwick Police. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Elmwood Avenue in Cranston. Johnson was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and transported to the ACI.
Arrested on warrant in robbery case: On Sept. 5 At 12:42 a.m., troopers arrested Edmund Francis, 47, of 37 Victory Street, Cranston on an affidavit arrest warrant for first degree robbery originating from the Providence Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick. Francis was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and later turned over to the Providence Police Department.
Car stop results in arrest on several warrants: On Sept. 5 At 5:07 p.m., Troopers arrested Robert Forest, age 27, of 7 Elberta St., Warwick, for 1.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the original charge of Receiving Stolen Goods out of the Scituate Police Department, 2.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the original charge of Forgery and Counterfeiting out of the State Police Lincoln Barracks, 3.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the original charge of Exploitation of an Elder out of the State Police Lincoln Barracks, and 4.) Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with Suspended License-3rd or Subsequent Offense out of the State Police Lincoln Barracks. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop in Warwick. Forest was transported to State Police Headquarters, where he was processed and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution/Men’s Intake Center.
