RI Trooper Log: DUI, Credit Card Fraud, Domestic Assault

Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests in and near Warwick on Dec. 20  included charges for DUI, illegal computer access and credit fraud, domestic assault and assault.

Here are the available details of those arrests:

Rte. 95 stop, DUI arrest At 1:25 a.m. Dec. 20, troopers arrested, Ricardo Pierre, 40, of 94 Carolina Ave., Providence, Rhode Island, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – First Offense / B.A.C. Unknown and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Pierre was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing, arraigned by Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Illegal computer access, credit card fraud On Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at 12:08 a.m., Troopers arrested Bonnie Appleton, age 43, of 955 Post Road, Apt. A 104, Warwick, Rhode Island, on an affidavit and arrest warrant originating out of the Hope Valley Barracks for 1.) Access to a computer for fraudulent purpose; 2.) Obtaining money under false pretense over $1,500; 3.) Obtaining a credit card through fraudulent means; and 4.) Fraudulent use of a credit card.

This arrest was the result of an investigation and Appleton surrendering herself into the Hope Valley Barracks. Appleton was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future court date.

Missed court, domestic assault charge At 9 p.m. Dec. 20, troopers arrested Jose Diaz, 20, of 23 Derry St., Providence, Rhode Island for a District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Pretrial Conference on the original charge of Domestic Simple Assault originating out of the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men’s Intake Center.

Rte. 95 stop, DUI arrest On Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at 2:59 p.m., troopers arrested Jacqueline Morey, 57, of 1939 Cranston St., Cranston, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs BAC unknown – First offense; and 2.) Refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95, in the City of Warwick. Morey was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned and then released into the custody of a responsible party.

Missed court, assault, shoplifting At 10:01 a.m. Dec. 20, troopers arrested Justin Evans, 31, of 54 Byron Blvd., Warwick, RI, for 1.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on a Violation on the original charge of Assault with Intent Specified Felonies originating out of the Warwick Police Department and 2.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on a Violation on the original charge of Shoplifting originating out of Warwick Police Department.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cranston Street in the City of Providence. Evans was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and turned over to Providence Superior Court.

Greenwich Avenue stop, DUI arrest At 8:35 p.m. Dec. 20, troopers arrested Eric Stewart, 30, of 6200 Post Road, North Kingstown, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, BAC – Unknown – First Offense and 2.) Refusal to submit to a chemical test. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Greenwich Avenue in the City of Warwick.

Stewart was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and held as a probation violator pending a morning arraignment.

Missed court, suspended license At 12:19 a.m., troopers arrested Welinton Garcia-Vasquez, 28, of 396 Plainfield St., Warwick, Rhode Island for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 10 in Cranston. Garcia-Vasquez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institute Men’s Intake Center.
