WARWICK, RI — RI State Police arrests this week included warrants served for charges ranging from simple assault, shoplifting, and missing court on an obstruction and a family court warrant.

Troopers arrest fugitive on assault warrant At 3 a.m. Aug. 2, troopers arrested Fugitive from Justice Luis Delrio, 22, of 289 Fountain Ave., Seekonk, MA for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Simple Assault out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of troopers responding to Rhode Island Hospital in the City of Providence. Delrio was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and turned over to the Sheriff’s Department.

Troopers arrest Coventry man on shoplifting warrant At 11:27  p.m. Aug. 2, troopers arrested Kenneth Jordan, 27, of 301 Pulaski St. Apt. ½, Coventry, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant for Shoplifting, originating from the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in the Town of West Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, where he was processed and later turned over to the Warwick Police Department.

Troopers arrest court scofflaw at DMV At 11:18 a.m. Aug. 4, troopers arrested Jose Medina Nieves, age 42, of 54 Tweed St., Cranston, RI for 1) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on the charge of Obstruction originating out of the Warwick Police Department. 2) Family Court Warrant for Reciprocal Body Attachment.

The arrest was the result of the trooper responding to the Department of Motor Vehicle for one in custody. Medina was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and later turned over to Third District Court.
