RI Trooper Log: Arrests for Credit Fraud, Reckless Driving

Editor’s note: The following Warwick, RI area arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

WARWICK, RI —  State Police arrests in the RI Trooper Log between Aug. 1 and Aug. 11 involved credit fraud, reckless driving, missing court, narcotics charges and one man who failed to register as a sex offender.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Missed court on credit fraud At 1:20 p.m. Aug. 7, troopers arrested Nicole Frye, 25, of 420 Woodward Road, North Providence, Rhode Island, for 1) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Fraudulent use of credit card, originating out of the Warwick Police Department and 2) Washington County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Fraudulent use of credit card, originating out of the South Kingstown Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Branch Avenue in the City of Providence. Frye was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Kent County Superior Court for Arraignment.

Violation of no-contact order At 7:15 a.m., Aug. 7, troopers arrested Megel Henry, 32, of 117 Fairmount St., Hartford, Connecticut, for Violation of a No Contact Order.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 North in Warwick. Henry was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and later arraigned at Third Division District Court.

No-contact order violation At 3:30 p.m., troopers arrested William Keenan, 47, of 1639 Main St., Apt. #2, West Warwick, Rhode Island, on a Superior Court Bench Warrant for a Probation Technical Violation on the original charge of Violation of a No Contact Order – 3rd Offense, originating from the State Police Lincoln Barracks.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Centerville Road in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and turned over to Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

B&E charge court hearing missed At 9:55 a.m. Aug. 8, troopers arrested Anthony Guy, 34, of 199 Bracken St., Cranston, Rhode Island for a Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on the original charge of Unlawful Breaking and Entering originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Post Road in the City of Warwick.

Warrant for narcotics possession, larceny At 11:02 p.m., Aug.8 Troopers arrested Charles Simas, age 39, of 22 Idaho Street, Coventry, Rhode Island for 1.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for a Technical Violation on the original charge of Possession of Controlled Substance out of the Lincoln Woods Barracks, and 2.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for a Technical violation on the original charge of Larceny from the Person out of the West Warwick Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on River Street in the Town of West Warwick.

Missed arraignment on embezzlement charge At 9:55 a.m. Aug. 8, troopers arrested Jessica Brown, 34, of 22 Idaho St., Coventry, Rhode Island for a Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment for Sentencing on a Technical Violation on the original charge of Embezzlement over $100 out of the Warwick Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on River Street in the Town of West Warwick.

Failing to register as sex offender On Aug. 9, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Reginald Correa, 37, of 1403 Warwick Avenue (Apt 109), Warwick, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of the Providence Police Department on the charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Correa was taken into custody without incident, processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Providence Police Department.

Reckless driving, resisting arrest At 3:34 AM Aug. 10, Troopers arrested Brenton Leach, age 27, of 39 Pinegrove Avenue, Warwick, RI for 1.) Reckless Driving, 2.) Resisting Arrest, and 3.) Possession of Marijuana more than 1 OZ. The arrest was the result of a brief motor vehicle pursuit and subsequent K-9 track. The subject was transported to Kent County Hospital and later transported back to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released.
