Editor’s note: The following Warwick arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest is the result of the charges against an individual, and does not indicate that person’s guilt or innocence.

Warwick, RI – State Police activity in and involving Warwick this week involved a DUI arrest following a traffic stop on Rte. 95, an assault on Rte. 95, and the arrest of man wanted for multiple warrants including concealed sale of property out of the Warwick Police Department.

Traffic stop on Rte. 95 ends in DUI arrest At 12 a.m. May 1, troopers arrested Melanie Moore, 34, 273 North Main St., Fall River for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – 1st Offense – B.A.C .Unknown and 2.)Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure To Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Disorderly Conduct originating out of Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Moore was transported to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed, held overnight at State Police Headquarters, and later arraigned at Third District Court

Troopers arrest Coventry man for assault on Rte. 95 At 3 p.m. May 3, troopers arrested Pierre Tasho, 65, of 19 Arrowwood Drive, Coventry, Rhode Island, for Simple Assault.

The arrest was the result of troopers responding to a disturbance on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Tasho was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and later released.

Troopers nab Newport man on multiple warrants On May 4, 2017, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested David Traynum, age 38, of 195 Admiral Kalbfus Road, Newport, Rhode Island, on the following Warrants: 1) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of the Middletown Police Department on the charges of Larceny Over $1500 from a Building, Larceny Under $1,500 (six counts), Injury or Tampering with a Vehicle; 2) Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of the Portsmouth Police Department on the charges of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Larceny Over $1,500, Obstructing an Officer in Execution of Duty; and 3) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Technical Violation Hearing on the charge of Concealed Sale of Property out of the Warwick Police Department.

Traynum was transported to the Middletown Police Department.
