COVENTRY, RI —  Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log  Sept. 19 – Oct. 5  involved charges for illegal firearms, DUI and Hit & Run.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests:

 

RI Trooper Log: Coventry Arrests Sept. 25 – Oct. 4

DUI, Disorderly, State Property  Destroyed On Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at 10:40 PM, Troopers arrested Paul Oliveira, age 43, of 673 Washington Street, Coventry, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor and/or Drugs- 1st Offense, 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test 3.) Disorderly Conduct, 4.) Destruction of State Property, 5.) Vandalism.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in West Warwick. Oliveira was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third Division District Court date.

Unlicensed pistol, illegal weapon At 12:05 p.m. Sept. 28, Troopers arrested Angel Otero, 31, of 85 Burbank Street, Cranston, Rhode Island for, 1) License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, 2) Weapons Other Than Firearms Prohibited (3 Counts), 3) Loaded Weapon in Vehicle, and 4) Possession of a Scheduled I to V Controlled Substance Less Than 10 Grams.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on St. Mary’s Street in the Town of West Warwick. Otero was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed, specially arraigned as a bail violator, and transported to the Adult Correctional Facility – Men’s Intake Center.

DUI, Rte. 95, WG On Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024 at 1:07 a.m., troopers arrested Anthony Decena, 42, of 158 Lonsdale Main St., Lincoln, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor and/or Drugs- B.A.C. 0.08 to 0.1 (Phase I: 0.089% & Phase II: 0.085%) – 1st Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in West Greenwich. Decena was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third Division District Court date.

Hit  & Run On Monday, Sept. 30, 2024 at 12:45 a.m., troopers arrested Kayla E. Murray, 23, of 44 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Duty to Stop in Accidents Resulting in Damage to Vehicle.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on New London Turnpike in the Town of Coventry. Ms. Murray was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Third Division District Court date.

DUI, Rte. 95 stop At 2:55 a.m. Oct. 5, troopers arrested Samuel Flyntz,  21, of 67 Bramble Lane, West Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense, and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Breath Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in Exeter. Flyntz was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Fourth Division District Court date.
