WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police are investigating a fatal roll-over single-car crash that killed a Warwick man and seriously injured a 17-year-old Providence girl when the car they were in went off the road and crashed on Rte. 295 South in Warwick early Thursday .
Col. Ann C. Assumpico, superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police, reported the driver, identified as Alexander Valicenti, 22, of 300 Country View Drive, Warwick, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation by RI State Police showed Valicenti was headed south on Rte. 295 when he lost control of his vehicle and it went off the road and rolled over just south of the Route 113 overpass near Exit 1A, according to Assumpico.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
