PROVIDENCE — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) has identified Michael Perry, 46, of Warwick, as the man whose  body was found in Narragansett Bay off Barrington Monday.

Perry left Conimicut Point in a kayak on Jan. 12. The kayak was found unoccupied on Jan. 14.

An emergency dispatch Friday morning called the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force and RI Environmental Police to the Barrington area, finding Perry’s body in the water off Nayatt Point, and transported it to Colt State Park.

The State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy today. The DEM had no other details to release.

“DEM extends sincere sympathies to Mr. Perry’s family and friends,” the agency noted in their report Monday.
