WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police arrested a Warwick man on domestic assault and violence charges Wednesday night for an 857 West Shore Road stabbing of two women he lived with.
At approximately 11:17 p.m., WPD officers responded to a reported stabbing at the address, according to Warwick Police. Inside, they discovered two women in need of medical aid, having suffered multiple stab wounds in various locations of their bodies, according to a statement about the call and arrest.
Officers identified the suspect as Albert Sanders Jr., 58, who lives with the two victims, and reportedly attacked both, leaving the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital with significant injuries, where they are currently receiving treatment and are now reported to be in stable condition.
The Warwick Police Department Uniform Patrol Division and Detective Division, cooperating with the Providence Police Department, located Sanders, then apprehended him at the Curtis Arms Apartments, Providence, RI, without incident or injury.
West Shore Road stabbing charges
Warwick Police have charged Sanders with the following offenses in the West Shore Road Stabbing:
- Two counts of Domestic Assault with a Dangerous Weapon in a Dwelling House
- One count of Domestic Assault by Strangulation
- One count of Driving without Consent of the Owner
- One count of Domestic Criminal Violation of a No Contact Order
- Driving without Consent
- One count of Domestic Disorderly Conduct
Sanders is scheduled to be arraigned later today in Third District Court.
